The Irish Tarmac Rally Championship continued last weekend with the Access Ireland Rally of the Lakes 2026.
The two-day Killarney based international rally began on Saturday with eight special-stages, starting with the first of three passes of ‘Molls Gap’ over the weekend. Six special-stages on Sunday in the vicinity of Carrauntoohil brought the event to a finish.
There was a Škoda podium lockout at the conclusion of the event as the victors Callum Devine/Noel O’Sullivan Jnr, 2nd placed Eddie Doherty/Tom Murphy and 3rd placed David Kelly/Shane Buckley were all using Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 cars.
County Monaghan man Josh Moffett navigated by Andy Hayes took their Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 home in 4th place overall and 1st in class RC2.

5th, 6th and 7th place were again all using a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2. Once again, it took a Monaghan person to end the Škoda three in a row
Conor Mohan navigating for Eamonn Kelly finished 8th overall using a similar GR Yaris to that of Josh Moffett.

9th overall again went to a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2. The first non Škoda or Toyota was Keelan Grogan/Ayrton Sherlock who finished in 10th place onboard a Ford Fiesta Rally2.
Andrew Mackarel and Richard Cassidy were out in their Opel Ascona and finished 71st overall and 10th in class 13.

Jack Casey and Ciara Duggan driving a VW Polo R5 retired after SS12 while in 27th place overall.

The Campbell Contracts May Day Stages Rally took place on Bank holiday Monday at St Angelo Airport Enniskillen. In this event Damien Connolly navigated Peadar Hurson to 9th overall in their VW Polo R5 and Gary McCrudden guided Paidi Hamill to 26th overall and 6th in class 6.
Brendan Treanor and Garry Farrelly made their eagerly awaited return at the event and took their Ford Escort MkII to 62nd overall and 11th in class 8.
