Josh Moffett and Andy Hayes made it three overall wins in a row and within eight days of each other last weekend.
As well as taking their third win in a row on Sunday’s Jim Walsh Cork Forest Rally 2026, the victory was incredibly their second win of the weekend as they had also taken the Modern Tyres Ulster Rally victory the previous day.
Josh and Andy began their winning streak the previous weekend on Josh’s home event, our own, Four Seasons Hotel Ronnie Hawe Monaghan Stages Rally 2026.
There was a brace of Co. Monaghan Motor Club CLG members on the Ulster Rally podium as Cathan McCourt/Barry McNulty finished in 3rd place.
Elsewhere in the event, Ryan Farrell navigated Johnnie Mulholland to 19th overall and 1st in class 4.
Andrew Mackarel and Richard Cassidy took their Opel Ascona to 45th place overall and 6th in the Irish Tarmac Modified.
Arther Kierans navigating for Alan Carmichael finished 54th overall after returning under Super Rallye regulations. Arthur’s son Macartan wasn’t able to return under Super Rallye rules for a second time in the event as he and Michael Dunlop were forced to retire for good with mechanical issues on the final stage of the event.
Turning our attention to the Jim Walsh Cork Forest Rally 2026, Josh and Andy switched to the Hyundai i20 R5 after winning the Ronnie Hawe and the Ulster in the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2.
As was the case on the Ulster, there too were a brace of Co. Monaghan Motor Club CLG members on the podium, as Conor Mohan guided Niall McCullagh to 3rd place.
If Josh continues in this form, he may talk nice to Sam to try organise some automated storage to ease the crystal placement in the display cabinet.
