Hughes Wins Monaghan Endurance

Evin Hughes guided Karl O’Donoghue to the win of the Co. Monaghan Motor Club CLG Endurance Trial 2026 on Sunday last.

The pair onboard a Toyota Starlet took the win by a comfortable 2 minutes and 49 seconds from TJ O’Brien/Paul Reilly who were using a similar Toyota Starlet.

3rd place went to Becky Hollinshead/Clare Brady who were 7s adrift of O’Brien/Reilly.

Fastest competing crew on the day were Michael Carbin and Conor Mohan who were onboard a Subaru Impreza. Even though they were the fastest crew on the day they were unable to win as the class c Impreza is not built to endurance trial regulations.

The father/son team of Damien and Jack Treanor finished 2nd in class B in their Toyota Starlet.

Gary Cassidy/Jack Cassidy finished 3rd in class B.

Many thanks to all the landowners for the permission to use their property and plethora of marshals who showed up on the morning to officiate at the event and all those who spent hours setting the selectives up in the days prior.

A special thanks has to go to Garry Farrelly who put in countless hours devising the route, selectives and getting the event to fruition.

Thanks to Eoghan Corr who filled in as Clerk of the course on the day.
